How do you make fabric book corners?
There are a few different ways to make fabric book corners, but we’re going to show you how to do it using a bias tape maker.
You’ll need:
-Fabric (for the cover and pages of your book)
-Bias tape maker or similar tool
-Ruler
-Scissors
-Pins
-Thread
To start, cut two pieces of fabric that are each twice as wide as the finished width of your bias tape. For example, if you’re making ½” bias tape, cut two pieces of fabric that are each one inch wide.
Fold each piece of fabric in half so that the wrong sides are together. Pin in place. Sew down the pinned edge, using a ¼” seam allowance.
Open the fabric out so that it’s now folded in quarters. You should have four equal-sized pieces of fabric.
Using your bias tape maker (or similar tool), press one of the folded edges over to form a channel. Be sure to press firmly – you don’t want any wrinkles in your bias tape!
Pin the bias tape in place, making sure that the raw edges of the fabric are aligned with the folded edge of the bias tape. Sew along the pinned edge, using a ¼” seam allowance.
