Here are the steps for making book corners with fabric:
Step One – Measure and cut two pieces of fabric that are each about 11 inches by 13 inches. If you want to use a pattern or design from the scrapbook paper, then cut it out now before you move on to step two!
Step Two – Fold over one long side of both fabrics so that it meets up with itself in the middle (or fold down all four sides if using plain scrapbook paper). Do this again for both pieces of material being sure not to crease them too much while folding as this could cause problems later when sewing on edges later.
Place your iron on medium heat setting and press firmly along all four edges until they’re flat against each other for about 15 seconds.
Step Three – Sew a straight stitch along the folded edge of each piece of fabric. This will secure the fold in place so it doesn’t unfold later on. Now, comes the fun part!

How do you put a fabric book together?
To make a fabric book, you will need the following supplies:
-Fabric for the cover and pages (I used quilting cotton)
-Ruler or straight edge
-Iron and ironing board
-Scissors
-Sewing machine and thread
To begin, cut your fabric to size. For my book, I used an 11″x17″ piece of fabric for the cover and 14″x14″ pieces for the pages. If you are using a different size book, adjust your measurements accordingly. Next, fold each piece of fabric in half so that the wrong sides are together.
Iron them flat. Now it’s time to sew the pages together. With right sides together, sew the pages together along one of the folded edges.
You will do this in two steps: first sewing a basting stitch on your regular machine and then removing any excess fabric with your overlocker or serger (if you have one).
If you don’t have an overlocker/serger, just skip that step! Trim each seam allowance to about ¼”. With right sides still together, pin all of the pages together at once and sew down both sides. For extra durability, I also sewed across each corner diagonally.
Finally it’s time to add a cover! Place the cover face down on top of your book so that its side without binding is lined up with the spine of the book.
Pin in place and sew all the way around, leaving a small opening for turning. Turn your fabric cover right side out and press well. Hand stitch the opening closed. And you’re done! Your very own fabric book!
