Step One: Find Your Swivel Chair Base & Bracket Assembly. The base assembly has a flat part for attaching to the frame of your rocking chair. It also includes an attached bracket.
Step Two: Find Your Swivel Chair Wheel. You can buy these in any hardware store, and they’re typically made of wood or plastic. These are how the chair will move when you push on one side to rotate it. They attach with a screw that goes through the centre space in the wheel onto your frame underneath.
Add an extra set of bolts so there is four total at each end instead of three before attaching them using either steel brackets or clamps (with Allen wrench screws). It should be more than strong enough now for anyone who wants to use it!

Materials Needed:
- A wooden swivel (we got ours here)
- Dremel tool with a high-speed cutter bit to cut the hole in the base of the recliner for your new hardware. We recommend using safety goggles and ear protection when operating this machine! You will also need an extension cord, as we had trouble finding one long enough. The drill has a very short cord on it that doesn’t go very far from where you are plugged into an outlet.
- Screwdriver or drill to screw in your newly added piece of wood
- Wood glue if desired
Step One: Prepare Your Lazyboy Rocker Recliner Chair Base by Drilling Holes Into It
Step Two: Add Your New Swivel Hardware to the Base of Your Chair and Secure it With a Screwdriver or Drill
Step Three: Line up your swivel hardware with how you want it positioned before screwing in the screws on either side. Make sure they fit snugly, but not too tightly as this will make them difficult to remove later if needed.
Step Four: Use wood glue if desired for added security that won’t come apart easily (we recommend this).
Step Five: After securing your new piece of hardware in place, turn over your chair back onto its front legs so you can access the inside of where you just drilled holes without having to remove all four bolts from underneath each leg.
Run some more thread-locks along these new screws to make sure they will stay put. Reattach the seat back onto your chair and you’re finished!
How do I keep my chair from spinning?

This should create enough resistance against any movement while still being able to roll forward.

If you don’t want to stop a swivel recliner from moving or rolling, this is an easy fix. All you need are clothespins and some string! Simply attach the rubber band with one end tied around the base of each leg of your chair where they screw in place.
Next, loop it through the other two legs on either side so that they’re all connected as one continuous connection. You’ll then put a clothespin at both ends of the row to secure them into place for added support against movement.
