Steps To Remove Stickers From Fridge Door
A lot of materials can be used in removing stickers from the fridge. One of which is to rub oil onto the sticker to get rid of it. To do this, follow the steps below. So, how to remove stickers from fridge door?
Step #1. Pulling off the sticker
Try to pull as much of the sticker first before rubbing oil onto the sticker. This way, you can get the stick while it is not yet wet. Grasp the edges of the sticker using your fingers and pull it evenly and slowly upwards. Continue doing this until you can.
Step #2. Soaking a portion of a soft cloth in oil
Get the cloth and soak it into olive, baby, or mineral oil. Do not soak the entire cloth but just a portion of it that is enough in allowing the oil to spread. Aside from cloth, you may also make use of some paper towels. In case you will be using the latter, you have to fold over so that it will absorb the oil properly.
Step #3. Spraying or dabbing the oil onto the sticker
In doing this step, you have to ensure that the entire sticker will be covered thoroughly. More importantly, make sure the oil can seep into the edges of the sticker since that spots have the strongest adhesive. Then, you should let the oil sit onto the sticker for a couple of minutes not more than that.
Step #4. Wiping off the adhesive from the surface
Using the cloth you soak in oil earlier, wipe off the adhesive from the fridge. The oil you allow to seep in the sticker has dislodged it already including its adhesive so you can rub it away already. Do this while following the grain of the stainless steel. Otherwise, you may end up damaging the finish of your fridge surface.
Step #5. Applying oil again when necessary
If some parts of the adhesive were not removed, you can apply another layer of oil and allow it to sit again for about five minutes or so. Then, wipe the sticker again using the cloth covered with oil. This will only be necessary for those tenacious stickers.
How To Remove The Sticker Residue?
Even though you can remove the sticker from almost all surfaces, some of its residues might still be left behind. Dirt can gather on this very quickly. But do not worry because we have here the steps on removing sticker residue. This is safe for stainless steel and standard fridges.
Before anything else, get ready the supply that you will need. Prepare soap, water, and cloth. This will also include a remover which can be either of the following:
- Windex
- Peanut butter
- Oil
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
In using vinegar, just pour some vinegar onto the cloth and use it in rubbing off the residue gently. In case, the residue does not come off, you can spray white vinegar and allow it to sit for no more than one hour. After that, you can try to rub off the sticker residue again. In using peanut butter, simply spread it onto the entire residue. It is not necessary to apply a thick layer. Let it soak for an at the very least or overnight when necessary. Then, as usual, use the damp cloth to wipe the residue and peanut butter off.
If you intend to use Windex, just pour or spray a tiny onto the cloth and then use it in rubbing the residue off. You can also spray onto the residue directly if necessary. In such a case, you have to allow it to sit for at least one hour.
If you want to use baking soda, you should make a paste by mixing it with water. Then, start rubbing the paste onto the residue using a cloth. Be gentle in doing this as you may end up scratching the fridge surface or cause it to become dull. After you get rid of the adhesive, get a soapy to remove the residue of the cleaning products.
