This works well because there are no gaps between the mats, but it can be difficult to get in and out of.
The second way is also pretty easy while still using your pack and playing with a changing table! Simply place your baby on top of one side (the outside edge will now have right angles) before you change their diaper or swaddle them for sleep like normal then once they are done simply flip that same side up against the inside wall of the pack and play so that there is no gap between where they were laying previously.
This works well because there are no gaps between pads, but if you plan to use this as an adjustable surface make sure to keep track of which sides go together otherwise it will not work!
If you want something more permanent consider placing two pieces back-to-back with one side being flipped over to create an adjustable flat surface out of what was previously three rounded edges.
The third way is probably your best option if you plan to use your pack and play for a changing station every time!
Simply place a towel or blanket on top of the mat underneath where the baby will sleep then once they are done simply flip that same pad up against the inside wall at just enough height so that you have space under their head while sitting down next to them (you might want some help from another person here).
