Regular curtains are measured from the top of the window frame where the rod is located down to the desired length, usually under the window sill.
Café curtains on the other hand measure from the middle of the window frame.
The rod is placed at the middle part of the window.
Imagine a window cut in half crosswise.
That is where the rod is located, and the length is at the window sill.
It only covers half of the window compared to regular curtains that offer full coverage for the window.

While there are so many reasons to hang a curtain, here are some benefits and features that café curtains can provide.

Well, because of its size, it is a given that it offers less privacy than the full-length curtains.
If you want more privacy, this is not the best curtain for you.
You could add some valances above, yet there will be some mishaps in between.
