So, how to get paint out of curtains?
There are different ways to remove paint stains from your curtains.
Below are the steps of the easiest way to do it.
Step #1. Scrape the wet paint
Do not wait for the paint to be absorbed into your curtains before you do anything about it.
Get a knife and scrape it off.
Be careful in doing this because there is a tendency that you will push the paint deeper into the fabric layers so it will be very hard for you to remove.
Step #2. Wash the fabric with detergent
Pour the detergent into the cold water. Then get a clean cloth and dip it into the solution.
Once done, you can now start working on the paint stains.
The most effective technique here is to press the drapes and twist firmly the spot with paint so that it saturates.
Step #3. Rinse
Get another cloth and dip it into clean water.
Then blot it to the fabric to rinse the detergent out.
In case the paint is not completely gone, you can repeat the process until your curtains are free from stains.
Step #4. Blotting the remaining stains
You are almost done with this task.
In case your drapes are not washable, you can blot the spots using acetone.

Method #1. Using Rubbing Alcohol
Rubbing alcohol can also be effective in removing paint stains.
Simply dampen the curtain fabric in warm water. Get a clean cloth and also moisten it with warm water.
Then, pour the rubbing alcohol onto the stained spot. Rub the curtain fabric against itself.
After that, you can now start scrubbing the stain out using a laundry brush.
Then rinse the stain out with warm water.
You can then, put the stained curtain in the washing machine.
Method #2. Applying a cleaning solution to the stain
One great cleanser used for paint is the mixture of dishwashing and hand soap.
This is especially effective for fresh paint stains.
To do this, get a tiny bowl and combine the detergent and hand soap using a one-to-one ratio.
If you are dealing with dried stains, use isopropyl alcohol or hairspray to get rid of the paint.
Method #3. Using glycerin
If you used oil-based paint in repainting your home and you accidentally stained your sheer curtains, follow the steps below:
Step #1. Pouring glycerin on the spot
First, you need to pour the glycerin onto the spot that is stained by the paint.
Then, let the glycerin sit for about ten minutes so that the dried paint will be softened.
Step #2. Rubbing the glycerin into the sheers
Gently rub the glycerin to the sheer curtain with the use of an old toothbrush.

Step #3. Soaking the fabric into the turpentine
Get a bowl and fill it with turpentine.

Rinse the sheer curtains using cold water.
Then, rub any remaining paint stains using your fingers.
If the paint is still persistent, repeat what you did in the previous step.
Step #5. Washing the sheer curtains
Now, you have to wash the sheers using a heavy-duty laundry detergent.
The detergent will remove any remnants of the paint stain.
