How to assemble One Step Ahead playpen
– Open the playpen and place it on a flat surface. Check that all parts are present and undamaged before assembly begins. Do not use if any part is missing or damaged as this may cause serious injury to your child.
– Take out one of the two panels with metal bars attached to them from its packaging, along with four (or eight) screws for each panel you wish to assemble (a total of twelve).
– Spread apart both sets of end caps by placing pressure on them until they snap into place – there should be an audible click when they do so.
These end caps will later form the bottom frame where your flooring meets up against the baseboard of One Step Ahead’s playpen, but for now, they simply end caps that will protect the metal bars from being bent when in use.
– Take out one of the four screws and screw it onto an open panel where you would like to attach the other panel with the metal bars attached to them at a 90-degree angle, ensuring that both panels are facing away from each other. Do this for all four of your starting points (two on each side).
– Now take hold of two of these assembled units and place them together so their holes align properly – do not tighten yet!
Repeat step five using another set of two units placed next to either side of your first pair, making sure they face opposite directions as well. Your playpen should now be formed into a square shape without its flooring or end caps.
– Now take your flooring and place it inside the playpen’s baseboard – this will be where you attach all four of One Step Ahead’s panels with metal bars attached to them so they can act as walls for your baby, keeping him/her protected at all times.
– Take each panel on either side of the playpen (not including those facing backwards) along with its screws, unscrewed in step five, and fasten onto the corresponding holes within one of two bases which are suitable for both standard-sized single beds and cots. Ensure that these panels do not face away from each other before doing so!
– Next comes attaching the pair of assembled units that are at the back of your playpen. Do this by taking one unit and placing it into the corresponding hole on the left side, making sure that its screw holes line up. Take the other unit and do the same for the right side.
– Tighten all screws using a Phillips head screwdriver until they are firmly in place.
– Finally, reattach both end caps to their rightful places – these will snap into place when pushed with pressure applied. You have now successfully assembled One Step Ahead’s playpen!
